Gulf Shores, Ala. – Cougar
Abby Stricker wrapped up an outstanding freshman season today at the 36
th annual NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships held at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala. Stricker competed in the women's triple jump and was the lone Cougar competing at the championships.
Stricker was not able to advance into the finals of the triple jump today, placing 16
th overall with a jump of 10.95 meters. Abby was one of four freshman who qualified for the national triple jump event.
Senior Tameca Wallace from the Doane College won the event with a mark of 12.17 meters.
Stricker finished as the National Runner-Up in the long jump yesterday. Her freshman season with the Cougars has been littered with awards and honors as she became the first field event award winner for the Cougars this spring both at the conference and at the national level.
