Cougars Compete at NAIA Great Lakes Challenge

Columbia, Mo. –This morning the men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2019 NAIA Great Lakes Challenge. The men's team took 11th place out of 26 teams with a score of 339 points and the 22nd ranked women's team finished 12th out of 26 teams with 365 points.

The men's side was led by Alexander Dukes who placed 26th out of 311 runners in the 8k race with a time of 25:30. In addition, Dean Frossard took 66th (26:30), Malik Holman finished 77th (26:39), Grant Uthlaut  placed 86th (26:46), and Brock Fisher placed 94th (26:54) to complete the scoring for Columbia.

The women's team was led by Brianna Haller who finished 19th out of 276 runners in the 5k race with a time of 18:54. Naomi Payne placed 69th with a time of 19:42, Grace Brinkman placed 83rd (19:53), Mikayla Sehlmeyer took 92nd (19:58) and Kyla Bertschinger finished 102nd (20:07) to round out the scoring for the Cougars.

The Cougars are back on Friday, November 8 when they travel to Elsah, Illinois, to compete in the 2019 American Midwest Conference Cross Country Championship. The event is set to start at 9 a.m. for the men with the women's race to follow at 10 a.m.
