Wichita, Ks. – The Columbia College men's and women's golf teams were back in action the past two days when they traveled to Wichita, Kansas to compete in the Tabor College Spring Invitational at the Tallgrass Country Club. The Cougars did very well in the event as both teams finished first. The men's team finished with a team score of 602 (307-295, +34), while the women's had a team score of 674, (345-329, +106)
The men's team was led by
Daymond Dollens who came in third out of 27 golfers after shooting 148 (77-71, +6), while
Noah Wilson came right behind shooting 151 (79-72, +9) for fourth, and
Cameron VanLeer took fifth after shooting 152 (74-78, +10).
Gage Brauns and
Laithan Sublette tied for seventh after shooting 154 (79-75, +12), (77-77, +12) to wrap up the Cougars team score.
In addition,
Cole Perkins participated as an individual and finished first after shooting 142 (68-74). This is Perkins first collegiate win.
Scott Shulman also participated as an individual and finished 14
th after shooting 161 (82-79, +19), while
Landon Jackson, another individual participant, placed tied for 16
th after shooting 163 (78-85, +21).
The women's team was led by
Haleigh Berrey who finished tied for fourth after shooting 167 (81-86, +25).
Lauren Hawley finished in sixth after shooting 168 (87-81, +26), while
Mikala Jungmeyer finished right behind in seventh after shooting 170 (87-83, +28).
Mindy Hennrich finished 10
th after shooting 173 (94-79, +31), and
Michelle Clark finished tied for 13
th after shooting 181 (90-91, +39).
In addition,
Mackenzie Ray participated as an individual and finished 18
th after shooting 185 (97-88, +43), while
Emma Chedwick also competed as an individual and finished tied for 19
th after shooting 186 (93-93, +44).
After their performance the past two days, Perkins, Dollens, Wilson, and Berrey were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The men's and women's golf teams will be back in action when they travel to Fulton, Missouri for the William Woods Spring Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course on April 1-2
