Lawrence, Kan. – The Columbia College men's and women's golf teams were back in action the past two days when they traveled to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the Baker Spring Invitational at the Eagle Bend Golf Club. The Cougars did very well in the invite as the men's finished in third, while the women's team finished second, only eight points behind Rockhurst University. The men's team finished with a team score of 593 (294-299, +17), while the women's had a team score of 656 (330-326, +80).
The men's team was led by
Daymond Dollens who tied for 5
th after shooting 145 (72-73, +1),
Cole Perkins who finished tied for 10
th after shooting 148 (72-76, +4),
Cameron VanLeer who tied for 14
th after shooting 149 (75-74, +5),
Noah Wilson who finished tied for 17
th after shooting 151 (75-76, +7), and
Laithan Sublette who finished tied for 30
th after shooting 157 (81-76, +13).
The women's team was led by
Mikala Jungmeyer who took 1
st after shooting 154 (78-76, +10),
Lauren Hawley who placed 10
th after shooting 165 (84-81, +21),
Mindy Hennrich who finished 13
th after shooting 168 (87-81, +24),
Michelle Clark who tied for 14
th after shooting 169 (81-88, +25), and
Mackenzie Ray who finished 21
st after shooting 178 (90-88, +34).
After their performance the past two days, Dollens and Jungmeyer were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The men's and women's golf teams will be back in action when they travel to Eugene, Missouri for the AMC Championships at Redfield Golf Club on April 29-30
th.
