Elsah, Ill – Ten athletes from the Columbia College men's indoor track & field team competed at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Last Chance Meet.
The Cougars picked up three first-place finishes, as
Malachi Jackson won the 60-meter hurdles (9.12-seconds),
Jimmy Gianopulos (Louis) took the 60-meter dash (7.28) and
Ian Hammock won the weight throw (15.54-meters).
In addition, Columbia added three second-place finishes –
Dillon Porter (pole vault),
Drake Baker (600-meter run) and Jackson (long jump) – and four third-place marks and times –
Zane Torreyson (shot put), Jackson (60-meter dash) and
Trevor Bailey (60-meter dash and long jump).
In the shot put, the Cougars placed four athletes in the top-eight – Torreyson (3rd, 12.16-meters),
Gavin Frantz (5th, 12.05-meters),
Roman Canty (6th, 11.28-meters) and Hammock (8th, 10.82-meters).
