Bowling finishes Eighth at McKendree Baker Challenge

Belleville, Ill. - The Columbia College bowling team traveled to Belleville, Ill. this weekend to compete in the McKendree Baker Challenge. The format was six, four game matches of baker games on Saturday and four, four game matches on Sunday.  Total pins would determine the top four teams to go on for the championship matches, which would consist of the best three out of five matches.
 
The winner of the tournament was Mount Mercy (Iowa) with a total pin fall of 7,979.  Second place went to McKendree University with a total of 7,900, while Columbia finished eighth with a total pin fall of 6,788.  The Cougars got off to a good start on Saturday, but fell off a bit toward the end of the first day. On Sunday, the Cougars attempted a comeback, but fell just short of making the championship.

The team has a bit of a break until they travel to St. Charles, Mo. for The 12th annual Lindenwood Lions Classic on February 27 -28.
