Bowling Finishes Season at Leatherneck Classic

Davenport, Iowa - Over the weekend the Columbia College women's bowling team traveled to Davenport, Iowa to bowl in the Leatherneck Classic presented by Quad Cities Sports Commission. In total, there were 25 women's teams and 32 men's team competing on a 42' flat pattern. The format consisted of six regular games bowled on Saturday and 16 four-game baker matches.  The top eight teams at the end of the second day would compete in a tradition bracket format.

After the first day the Cougars were in 18th-place out of the 25 teams. The second day the Cougars came out strong moving up to 17, but that was as high as the Cougars would go, as they finished in 18th-place. 

The second day the Cougars came out strong and moved up to 17, but ran into some trouble in the last two matches and couldn't move up finishing in 18th place for the tournament. 
 
Grace Kowalski finished 35 out of 209 bowlers with 1,082 pins, averaging 180. Claire Sanstrom averaged a 171, while Katie Leonard scored an average of 168. 

This was the last tournament of the season for the Cougars.
