Belton, Mo. – The Columbia College bowling team concluded their season at the NAIA Unaffiliated Conference Tournament over the weekend. The Cougars finished third out of an eight team bracket, accumulating a score of 3,392 (169.6 average).
Bracket play consisted of the best three out of five Baker Games, with a double-elimination bracket.
In their first round of action against Missouri Baptist, the Cougars came just short, falling 3-2. Moving to the elimination bracket, Columbia picked up a 3-1 advantage over Saint Mary's (Kan.). They held strong through the second round of the elimination bracket with a win over Hastings (Neb.), 3-1. In the elimination quarterfinal, the Cougars avenged Missouri Baptist, taking a 3.5-2.5 victory over the Spartans, producing their best round of the tournament, hitting a 179.3 average. Columbia finished up action in the elimination bracket semifinals where they were defeated by Midland (Neb.), 3-2.
