Dalton, Georgia - The 13th-ranked Cougars of Columbia College competed this week at the NAIA Golf Championships at the Dalton Golf and Country Club. The team claimed a fourth place finish at the national tournament, setting a program record for the highest team finish.
The Cougars advanced to the final round after tying for fourth place with a 603 in the preliminary phase.
In round three, the Cougars produced the low team round of the tournament with a 289, only 1-over par. That score was good enough to move the Cougars up to third place, just three strokes behind the tournament leader.
On the final day, the Cougars shot a 309 to finish the fourth round with a team score of 1201 and a fourth place finish.

Giacomo Comerio all tied for 24th place in the large playing field.
Trey Burton was named to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship Character Act Award team.
