Columbia, MO - The Columbia College dance team played host for the 2026 American Midwest Conference Championships inside the Arena of Southwell Complex.
Before the competition, the AMC announced its Academic All-Conference members;
Amanda Szydlowski,
Kaelyn Houser,
Khloe McCormick,
Marissa Sipe,
Presley Nease, and
Sophia Fuller all earned recognition.
Three AMC teams all made top four finishes at the 2025 NAIA Championships in that of St. Ambrose, Oklahoma City, and Viterbo.
The Cougars moved into fifth place after the preliminary round with a score of 81.42 and zero deductions.
In the final round, Columbia faced a 0.25 deduction and hit a 79.08 routine score.
With the two rounds averaged and added, the Cougars earned a final fifth place finish with a 79.67.
Marissa Sipe and
Amanda Szydlowski both earned AMC Second Team All-Conference honors, while Szydlowski also was named to the AMC Champions of Character team.
Columbia now preps to end their season in Orlando, Florida at NDA Nationals.
