Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College Esports Valorant team competed in the Mizzou Valorant Invitational this weekend at the University of Missouri Esports facility in Columbia. The Cougars entered as the overall No. 1 seed in a two-day event, with group stage play on Saturday determining seeding for Sunday's single-elimination championship bracket.
Group Stage — The Cougars were placed in a group alongside Southeast Missouri State University (Cape Girardeau, Mo.), Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, La.), the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, Ark.) and Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla, Mo.). Columbia College made short work of the field, dropping just six rounds across four matches to advance as the top seed.

Championship Sunday — The Cougars received a first-round bye after finishing atop the group stage and entered the quarterfinals against the University of Michigan – Flint (Flint, Mich.). Columbia College was dominant, sweeping both maps 13–7 to advance to the semifinals, where they met crosstown rivals, the University of Missouri. The Tigers battled hard, stealing Map Two 13–9, but the Cougars answered decisively on Map Three to take the series 2–1.
In the Grand Finals, Columbia College faced Missouri Baptist University (St. Louis, Mo.) for the championship. The Spartans drew first blood, edging out Map One 13–11, but the Cougars responded with back-to-back dominant performances to close out the series 2–1, and claim the Mizzou Valorant Invitational title.
