Track and Field 2026 AMC Championships

Outdoor Track and Field Sweeps AMC Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Columbia College men's and women's track and field teams each took home team titles at the 2026 American Midwest Conference (AMC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships today. The men's squad earned their eighth AMC title with a point total of 324, while the women's team secured their fourth overall title posting a team score of 269.50.

The Cougar men were led by a dominant showing in the throws and distance events. Easton Haslag recorded a school record, clinching the javelin title with a 63.27m toss, and Brenin Howell swept the throws corps with a first-place finish in shot put at 16.92m and discus at 51.11m. The men's 4x400m relay took the championship in 3:27.70, and the 4x800m relay won in 7:55.12. In the distance events, Kalieb Haileselassie won the 5000m in 15:17.71, while Dryst Bostick and Mark Noble went 1-2 in the steeplechase. Jace Carr led the sprints with a first-place finish in the 400m at 50.77, and Grant Erisman swept the horizontal jumps, winning the triple jump and finishing second in the long jump.

The Cougar women were paced by Montgomery Keck, who set a program record in the 100m hurdles (14.44) claiming the top spot, while also winning the triple jump (11.37m). Ellie Berendzen defended her hammer title with a 47.68m effort, and Penelope Hansen swept the shot put and placed second in both hammer and discus. Caleigh Huot had a strong multi-event day, winning the 400m in 1:00.25 and finishing second in the 200m. Lauren Berhorst won the 5000m in 19:18.96, and the women's 4x100m and 4x800m relays both took first place.
