NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the Regional Athletes of the Year for the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field season. Columbia College sophomore,
Garrett Donald was named the South Central Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year.
The top men's and women's top track athletes were recognized from each of the five regions – Great Lakes, Midwest, South, South Central, and West. Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Donald is ranked ninth nationally in the 400 meters and 12th in the 200 meters. He set PRs in each event at the CMU Invitational on April 2-3, achieving a time of 46.83 in the 400 and 21.00 in the 200.
Donald will compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Asheville, N.C. on May 21st at 3:30 p.m. in the 400 meters.
