Cougars Dominate AMC in NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup

Cleveland, OH - After claiming their ninth consecutive American Midwest Conference President's Cup, the Cougars earned another top-50 finish in the NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup. This department wide accomplishment comes after Columbia captured 15 conference championships in the 2025-26 season.

The Cougars accumulated 410 points overall and were heavily boosted by women's soccer, women's basketball, and men's basketball; these sports brought in 50 points each.

Among AMC schools, Columbia finished at least 360 points higher than Williams Baptist, Central Baptist, Harris-Stowe State, Stephens, and Cottey.

After the fall season, the Cougars had built up 158 points with 40 from women's cross country, 43 from men's cross country, 50 from women's soccer, and 25 from women's volleyball.

In the winter season, Columbia earned 50 points each from men's and women's basketball, followed by 16 points for men's indoor track and field.

Wrapping up in the spring season, the Cougars received 18 points from women's golf, 36 from men's golf, 25 from softball, 31.5 from women's track and field, and 25.5 from men's track and field.

Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball and women's volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NAIA Championships.
