Columbia College Athletics

Mason McCaleb was hired as an Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach with a primary focus in coaching the throwing events in August of 2022.

Under McCaleb’s leadership, the throwers have achieved continued success. The men’s team saw 14 national qualifiers and three women’s national qualifiers. The program has also seen it’s first throwing All-American in the Discus. Along with that the Cougars have seen numerous AMC Conference Champions in the throwing events and three regional field athletes of the year award winners. 

Prior to Columbia, McCaleb spent two years as a graduate assistant at William Woods University where he coached multiple national qualifiers and an All-American in women’s shot put. 

McCaleb and his wife Hannah are Columbia College alumni and former throwers. He was a three-time national qualifier (weight, hammer, and discus) and his wife a two-time qualifier (weight throw and hammer). They live in Columbia with their one child.
