Makayla enters her first year as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant for Columbia College athletics fall of 2025.
As a recent graduate from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho., Frias earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. While at C of I, she played on the women’s softball team all four years and worked as an intern for Yote athletics. Frias served as a captain of the team where they were consistently ranked in the NAIA top 25 with four Opening Round Championship appearances.
Frias was a Cascade Academic All-Conference for three years and honored as a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete three times. She was also selected as a College Sports Communicators NAIA representative for the convention in 2025.
Frias was a four-time All-League softball selection and Female Athlete of the Year at Colusa High School, Colusa, Calif., where she then was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
Through her experience as an intern, the California native has a deep-rooted passion for athletics which has fueled her in continuing to pursue sports communication.
