Columbia swept by 2nd-ranked Texas at Brownsville

Box Score Brownsville, Texas - The Columbia Volleyball squad dropped a 3-0 decision to second-ranked University of Texas at Brownsville on Thursday night. The Cougars, ranked 22nd in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, fall to 17-7 with the defeat. The Ocelots, who defeated Columbia 3-0 in the two teams' first meeting back on August 31st, improve to 19-0.

Paula Rosa and Sarah Schwentker each had six kills on the night for Columbia, who finished with a season-low 28 for the match. Lydie van Deursen finished with 24 assists and Jordan Reid added 11 digs. Texas at Brownsville was led by Vanja Joksic with a match-high 11 kills.

The Cougars will return to the court tomorrow to take on No. 1 ranked Concordia (Calif.) University in a rematch of last season's NAIA National Championship. Match time is set for 5:00 p.m. in Brownsville, Texas. Fans can watch and follow the match through live video at this link.
