Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar Volleyball team defeated visiting Benedictine University at Springfield 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-23) on Tuesday night, marking their straight conference win dating back to September 25
th. Columbia, ranked No. 22 in the NAIA Top 25, improves to 20-9 overall and 8-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) with the victory.
The Cougars jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game one of the night and led by as many as 14 on their way to a 25-12 opening set win. Columbia built another double-digit lead in game two and took a 2-0 advantage in the match after winning the second set 25-15. The Cougars struggled in game three, but used a 5-0 run to close out the match with a 25-23 victory.
Trinity Ojo finished with 11 kills on the night to lead the Columbia attack. AMC Player of the Week
Lydie van Deursen logged a match-high 28 assists and
Paula Rosa had seven service aces to lead all players.
The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, October 30
th when they travel to conference foe Hannibal-LaGrange University. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Hannibal, Mo.
