Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar Volleyball team won its fourth straight game on Wednesday night, defeating conference foe Hannibal-LaGrange University by a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-13). Columbia improves to 21-9 overall and 9-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) with the victory, their seventh straight league win dating back to September 25
th.
Paula Rosa had 10 kills to lead the Cougar attack, while
Sarah Schwentker added eight kills and a team-high four service aces. AMC Player of the Week
Lydie van Deursen led all players with 27 assists.
Columbia moved up seven spots to No. 15 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Tuesday. The University of Texas at Brownsville claimed the top spot with a unanimous 23 first-place votes, while AMC member schools Park University and Missouri Baptist University checked in at 13
th and 25
th respectively.
The Cougars will wrap up the week with two matches in Bellevue, Neb. on Friday and Saturday. Columbia will square off against Briar Cliff (Iowa) University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and take on 16
th-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) University on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
