Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar Volleyball team defeated 11
th-ranked Park University 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-19) in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championship game on Saturday afternoon. Columbia, the AMC regular season co-champions and 12
th-ranked team in the NAIA, improves to 28-9 on the year with their second straight conference tournament championship.
With game one tied at 6-6, the Cougars scored three straight points to take the lead for good on their way to a 25-16 win.
Paula Rosa led with Columbia six kills in the opening set. The Cougars never trailed in game two and jumped out to a 7-3 advantage as they took a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-17 victory. The Pirates hung around for much of the third set, but a 10-5 run by Columbia to end the game gave the Cougars a 25-19 win to close out the match.
Rosa and
Trinity Ojo combined for 26 kills for Columbia. The Cougars also received a match-high 36 assists from setter
Lydie van Deursen and nine digs from
Erin Pavlin.
The American Midwest Conference also announced its postseason award winners following the match as the following individuals were recognized for their performance throughout the 2013 season.

As conference co-champions in the regular season, both teams will await the release of the NAIA National Tournament bracket and pairings on Monday, November 18
th. The opening round of the national tournament will kick off on Saturday, November 23
rd.
