Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar Volleyball team won its seventh straight match on Friday night, defeating conference opponent Lyon College 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-20). Columbia, ranked 13
th in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, improves to 24-9 and 9-1 in the American Midwest Conference. The Cougars have also won eight consecutive AMC matches dating back to September 25
th.
The Cougars jumped out to a 12-3 lead in game one and cruised to a 25-14 win behind 13 kills and a .619 attack percentage. Game two was much of the same as Columbia built an early 13-4 advantage on their way to a 25-14 victory. The Cougars were forced to come from behind for a win in game three but a late 5-0 run put Columbia ahead for good as they claimed the match with a 25-20 win.
The Cougars finished with 37 kills on the night, led by
Sarah Schwentker with 11.
Lydie van Deursen had 33 assists to lead all players and
Paula Rosa contributed a match-high five service aces.
Columbia will close out the regular season tomorrow when they host Williams Baptist (Ark.) College. With a win, the Cougars will clinch the AMC regular season championship and home-court advantage throughout the conference tournament. Columbia will also honor

Erin Pavlin prior to the match as part of Senior Day. Match time is set for noon at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
