Box Score 2 St. Elgin, Ill. - The Cougar volleyball team split a doubleheader on the campus of Judson University on Friday afternoon. Columbia defeated Judson 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-13) in their first match of the day before falling 3-1 (26-24, 11-25, 20-25, 23-25) to Indiana Wesleyan University. With the split, Columbia moves to 9-3 on the season.
The Cougars finished with 46 kills against Judson in game one, led by
Carol Berger and
Paula Rosa with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Setter
Lydie van Deursen led all players with 41 assists and
Sarah Schwentker chipped in 12 digs.
Columbia struggled offensively in their second match, posting just a .069 hitting percentage.
Trinity Ojo had a team-high 10 kills, while van Deursen and
Jordan Reid contributed 31 assists and 15 digs respectively.
Columbia will be back at it tomorrow when they travel to Aurora, Ill. for a pair of non-conference matchups. The Cougars will face Robert Morris (Ill.) University at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 1:30 p.m. matchup with Trinity Christian (Ill.) College.
