Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men's soccer team fell to non-conference opponent No. 9 Grand View University tonight 4-0 in their final game of the 2014 regular season. With the loss, the Cougars drop to 9-5-2 on the season. The win improves the Vikings to 14-2-1 overall.
The Grand View Vikings netted the first goal eight minutes into the match. The Vikings would add a second goal to take the 2-0 lead after a rebound off of senior goalkeeper
Brady Wulff was headed in by Sam Blackman 13 minutes later. The visiting squad would increase their advantage to 3-0 after Blackman added his second goal in the 32
nd minute after the ball struck the crossbar and bounced in. Grand View carried the 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Vikings' Jeppe Madsen concluded the scoring in the 78
th minute after finding the back of the net to pick up the 4-0 shutout.
The Cougars outshot the Vikings 16-11 for the game. Senior
Brady Wulff and American Midwest Conference (AMC) Defensive Player of the Week
Daniel Ainsworth split time in goal and had one save each in the loss.
Today's contest also marked Columbia's final home game of the 2014 regular season. Seniors

Jacob Rocco,
Danny Baird, and
Brady Wulff were recognized before the contest.
With the regular season wrapped up the Cougars will wait for all the AMC games to be played before finding out whom they will play. The Cougars finish the season with a conference record of 7-2-1 and are guaranteed to host a quarterfinal round on Saturday November 8
th at R. Marvin Owens Soccer Field.
