Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia Cougars picked up their second win of the season tonight after defeating Concordia Seminary College by a score of 100-36. Tonight's game marked the end of the first day of the Cougars vs. Cancer Classic presented by Cost Cutters. The Cougars improve to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
Columbia shot 55 percent from the field on their way to a 41-8 lead at the halftime break, led by
Jobe Dillard with six points. The Cougars faced little resistance over the final period as well as they cruised to the win behind a 64 percent shooting clip over the final 20 minutes.
The Cougars finished 42 of 70 (60 percent) from the field led by
Marcus Whitt with a game-high 20 points.
Nic Reynolds and
Dwaun Stewart added 10 points apiece and
Zach Rockers pulled down a game high eight rebounds.
Action continues tomorrow in the Cougars vs. Cancer Classic presented by Cost Cutters. Bethel will face William Woods University at 2 p.m. in women's action. Concordia Seminary will face William Woods University at 4 p.m. in men's action. The Cougar women will take on Cumberlands at 6 p.m. and the Cougar men will face Graceland at 8 p.m.
