Columbia, Mo. - The 11
th-ranked Columbia Cougar volleyball team pushed their record to 13-4 on the season tonight after sweeping cross-town foe Stephens College by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-9. With the win the Cougars also improve their American Midwest Conference (AMC) record to 5-0 while the Stars of Stephens fall to 5-11 and 1-5 versus league opponents.
Polina Severina had a match-high 11 kills to lead a Columbia attack that finished with 36 kills and a .419 hitting percentage on the night.
Sashiko Heredia led all players with seven digs and dished out 27 assists.
The Cougars return to the court on Wednesday, October 7
th when they host the 3
rd-ranked Missouri Baptist College Spartans who are 19-1 on the season and 7-0 in conference play. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
