Box Score 2 St. Louis, Mo. - The 10
th-ranked Columbia College volleyball team earned two wins at the Spartan Invitational hosted by Missouri Baptist University today. The Cougars defeated Harris-Stowe State University 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 25-21) in their first match of the day and followed that up with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-2, 25-14) win over York College in the nightcap. With the two victories, Columbia improves to 15-5 on the season.
Penny Liu led the Cougar attack in the first match with 10 kills while
Viktoriia Lavrenchenko and
Eirini Chatziefstratiadou had seven apiece.
Sashiko Heredia dished out 15 assists while
Sasha Robinson had 11 of her own.
Liu led Columbia again in the second match with 11 kills and
Polina Severina chipped in with nine. Heredia had 31 assists and
Mikah Simpson recorded 16 digs.
The Cougars will be back in action at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow to take on Faulkner University (Ala.). Columbia will wrap up play with a 5:00 p.m. matchup against 3
rd-ranked Missouri Baptist University in the NAIA Game of the Week for the second time this week. Both matches will be played on the campus of Missouri Baptist University. The second game against the Spartans will have live stats available on the Cougar Volleyball schedule page.
