Box Score 2 Orange City, Iowa – The Columbia College volleyball team opened up the season with a three set win over No. 24 University of Jamestown before dropping a 3-0 decision to No. 9 Midland University at the 2015 Red Raider Classic. Columbia, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll, defeated the Jimmies by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22 and fell to the Warriors by scores of 9-25, 18-25, and 15-25. With the split, the Cougars move their record to 1-1 to the start the 2015 campaign.

Sofija Ivanovic and
Penny Liu led the match with 10 kills apiece while
Eirini Chatziefstratiadou added nine and
Amber Graham had eight.
Mikah Simpson chipped in with a match high 16 digs and setter
Sashiko Sanay Heredia led the match with 34 assists.
In their second match of the day, Liu led the Cougars again with 6 kills. Simpson led the team with 12 digs and Heredia dished out a match high 21 assists.
The Cougars continue action in the Red Raider Classic tomorrow when they face Ashford University (RV) at 9:00 a.m. and Northwestern University at 3 p.m.
