Box Score Belleville, Ill. - The Columbia Cougar volleyball squad posted a 3-0 victory over conference opponent Lindenwood University-Belleville tonight by scores of 25-15, 25-13, and 25-10. The win improves the 11
th-ranked squad to 12-4 overall and 4-0 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play, while the Lynx drop to 3-15 on the year and 2-2 in league play.
The Cougars hit .417 as a team behind a match-high ten kills by
Penny Liu.
Sashiko Heredia dished out 30 assists to lead all players while
Mikah Simpson chipped in with eight digs.
The Cougar volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 11 in the latest Tachikara-NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll, which was released today.
The top-five remained the same for the fourth straight week with Biola taking the No. 1 spot earning 16 first-place votes and 557 points followed by Viterbo who captured 545 points and had three first-place votes. American Midwest Conference (AMC) member Missouri Baptist, Midland and Lindsey Wilson rounded out the top five.
The Cougars will return to the court Thursday, October 1
st when they travel across town to take on Stephens (Mo.) College. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Columbia, Mo.
