Box Score Conway, Ark. - The 5
th-ranked Columbia College women's basketball team picked up a road victory over American Midwest Conference (AMC) opponent Central Baptist College by a score of 64-34 on Thursday night at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. Columbia remains perfect on the season, improving to 19-0 and 13-0 in conference play with the win. The Cougars are the only remaining unbeaten team in NAIA basketball (all divisions and both genders).
The Cougars finished shooting 34 percent for the game while holding the Mustangs to 24 percent shooting. 12 different Cougar players cracked the scoring column.
Ashlee Marlatt led the balanced scoring effort with 11 points.
Caprese Marshall chipped in nine points while
Corri Hamilton added seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Kei'yana Pearson,
Brittany Yost and
Nikki Fuemmeler had six points apiece.
The Mustangs were led by Rachel Eitherington with a game-high 14 points and Aaliyah Block led all players with 10 rebounds.
Columbia squares off with No. 9 Lyon (Ark.) College Saturday in a rematch of the November meeting between the two clubs. Columbia won the first meeting between the two sides, 63-51, on Nov. 21, handing the Scots their only conference loss. Columbia leads the AMC with a 12-0 record, followed by Lyon at 11-1. Both squads will enter Saturday riding long winning streaks. Columbia owns an NAIA-best 19-game streak, while Lyon has won 13-straight. The game has been chosen as the NAIA Network Game of the Week and AMC Game of the Week. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. in Batesville, Ark.
