Box Score Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Tonight the Columbia College volleyball team traveled to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to take on Williams Baptist (Ark.) College in an AMC matchup. The Cougars were able to sweep the Eagles in three straight sets to improve their overall record to 12-8 on the season. The Cougars have been on a tear as of late and have not lost a set in four straight matches.

In the first set both teams exchanged points early. However, with the score tied at six the Cougars were able to break away from the Eagles and cruised to a 25-13 victory. The Cougars had 14 kills on 25 attempts in the set. Columbia College was able to use their momentum from the first game to jump out to an 11-4 lead in the second set. The Eagles fought back in the game but the Cougars attack was too much for Williams Baptist to handle and Columbia College took the set 25-17. The Cougars had 15 kills on 29 attacks in the game.

The third set was all Cougars. They started off the game on a 22-4 run and easily took the set 25-6. Columbia College played great defense in the game limiting the Eagles attack to just four kills on 29 attacks in the set.

The Cougars played a great game all around as five players had over five kills in the match including a match high 12 kills from the reigning NAIA Player of the Year, Peiyi Liu, who also had eight digs. Sashiko Heredia continues to be the leader on offense as she picked up 32 assists to add to her impressive numbers this season.

Columbia College is back in action on Wednesday, October 12^th when they travel to Fulton, Missouri, to take on William Woods (Mo.) University in an AMC matchup. The match is set to begin a 7 p.m.
