Box Score Georgetown, Ky. – Today the 20
th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team traveled to Georgetown, Kentucky, to take on Georgetown (Ky.) College in a non-conference matchup. The Cougars were able to defeat the Tigers by a final score of 65-56 and improved to 3-0 on the season.
The first half of the game was very closely contested by both sides as neither team was able to gain an advantage over the other. The Cougars were finally able to break away from the Tigers to start the second quarter after going on a 6-2 run to take four point lead. Columbia College played great defense in the half forcing the Tigers to turn the ball over nine times which helped them take a 29-26 lead into the halftime break.
Morgan Brandt had a sensational half for Columbia College scoring nine points and bringing down seven rebounds.
The Tigers came out strong in the third quarter and were able to jump out to a lead after going on a 10-5 run to start the half. The Cougars never let Georgetown get too far ahead as they battled back and hit a huge three point shot at the end of the quarter to cut the Tigers lead to just one heading into the fourth. They were able to carry over that momentum into the final quarter and dominated the Tigers for the rest of the game. The Cougars outscored Georgetown 25-15 in the fourth to solidify their victory and remain undefeated on the season.

Morgan Brandt who had a team high 16 points and 12 rebounds. Additionally,
Mai Nienhueser had 11 points and nine rebounds and
Raegan Wieser added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Columbia College is back in action on Thursday, November 17
th when they travel to Conway, Arkansas, to take on Central Baptist (Ark.) College in their first AMC matchup of the season. The game is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
