Box Score Columbia, Mo. – Tonight the Columbia College women's basketball team took on St. Louis College of Pharmacy in an AMC conference matchup. The Cougars were able to pick up their seventh win of the season with a 119-39 win over the Eutectics as they improve to 7-1 on the year and 2-1 in conference play. The win marks Columbia Colleges third win in a row with their last two wins coming over the weekend against sixth ranked Vangaurd (Calif.) University and 25
th ranked Carroll (Mont.) College in the Jackson Rotary Invitational.
In the first half of the game, the Cougars were able to jump out to a big lead after scoring 13 straight points to open the game. They played tough defense in the half and forced the Eutectics to turn the ball over 10 times while turning those turnovers into 19 points on the other end. However, it was the way the team shared the ball that made the biggest difference in the half. The Cougars had 18 assists as a team and were led by
Alexis Uffmann who had eight of the 18.
The second half was much of the same for Columbia College as they continued to dominate the Eutectics in every aspect of the game. They moved the ball very well offensively and were knocking down all of their shots. However, the biggest story of the game came from sophomore guard,
Alexis Uffmann, who broke Columbia College's single game assists record dishing out 15 dimes in the contest. The record was previously held by Tiffany Foote who recorded 13 assists against McKendree College on March 8
th, 2004.
The Cougars had everyone contribute in tonight's win as every player who played in the game scored at least two points except for Uffmann who was busy finding her teammates all game long.
Ashlee Marlatt and
Grey Hayes led the team with 20 points each.
Columbia College is back in action on Thursday, December 1
