Box Score Little Rock, Ark. – This afternoon the seventh ranked Columbia College men's basketball team was back in action when they traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, to take on Philander Smith (Ark.) College in a non-conference matchup. The Cougars were able to defeat the Panthers by a final score of 55-54 and improved to 12-1 on the season.
Columbia College came into this game riding a five game winning streak in which they have beaten their opponents by an average of 29.2 points per game. This game was much closer than the past five as the Cougars found themselves down late in the contest. With the Panthers leading by two,
Travis Vogt stepped up his game for Columbia and knocked down a three point shot with four seconds left in the second half to give the Cougars a one point lead and their sixth straight victory.
Columbia College was led by
Jackson Dubinski who scored a team high 12 points and
Travis Vogt who finished with 11 points.
These two sides do not have to wait long for a rematch as Philander Smith will travel to Columbia on Thursday, December 29
th to take on the Cougars in their first game back after the holiday. The game is set to tip-off at 12 p.m.
