Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the American Midwest Conference announced the Player of the Week Awards for the week ending on December 3rd. For her efforts on the court this past week, Morgan Brandt has been recognized as the AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Brandt, a 5-10 junior guard out of Loose Creek, Missouri, averaged a double-double for the Cougars in two wins last week over Lindenwood University-Belleville (Ill.) and William Woods (Mo.) University. She finished with 17 points and seven rebounds against the Lynx and followed that up with 10 points and 16 rebounds against the Owls while going 11-31 from the field and 4-6 from the free throw line on the week. Brandt has scored in double figures in all but three games this season and ranks third in the AMC with three double-doubles. This is her third career AMC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Award.
The women's basketball team returns to action on Thursday, December 7th when they host the College of the Ozarks (Mo.) Bobcats. The game is set to start at 5:30 p.m.
