Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon Columbia College head volleyball coach Melinda Wrye-Washington announced the signing of Kiersten Anderson for the 2018 season. Anderson will be a junior athletically when she suits up for the Cougars next fall.

Anderson, a 6-0 RS/S out of Springfield, Illinois, spent her past two season at Lincoln Land Community College. Kiersten had a great freshman campaign as she accumulated 332 kills, 733 assists, 290 digs, and 58 aces which earned her the MWAC Freshman of the Year Award. Following her freshman year, she was named All-MWAC, all-region, all-American, and to the All-National Tournament Team while leading her team to a second place finish at the Junior College National Championships. In addition, Anderson set the single season record at LLCC for triple-doubles as she had 10 on the season. Through 10 matches thus far in her sophomore season, Anderson has accumulated 85 kills, 233 assists, and 93 digs. Prior to her time at LLCC, Anderson played her prep career at Lutheran High School in Springfield, Illinois, where she was named to the Champaign News-Gazette All-State Team and was a three time all-conference selection.

Anderson not only excels on the court but also does very well in the classroom. She has made the Presidents List each semester at LLCC while also being named First Team Academic All-Conference and a First Team Academic All-American.

"We are extremely excited to add such a talent to our CC program in January." Said Wrye-Washington.  "Kiersten has had great volleyball success in both High Performance and as a junior college All-American in 2016!  Kiersten is equally talented in the classroom and is a great fit for Columbia College!"
