Box Score St. Louis, Mo. – This evening the 11th ranked Columbia College women's basketball team was back on the court when they traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Eutectics in an AMC matchup. The Cougars continued their winning streak as they defeated the Eutectics by a final score of 88-40. Columbia improves to 14-5 on the season and 12-1 in conference play.
The game was off to a slow start as midway through the first quarter the Eutectics led 5-4. Columbia went on a 12-0 run to end the first leading 16-5. They caused eight Eutectic turnovers and gave up zero offensive rebounds in the first quarter. Columbia would continue their run with a bucket just 10 seconds into the second quarter. The Cougars continued to control the game as they led 32-13 with two and half to go before the break. Columbia shot 39 percent from the field and 73 percent from the line. The Cougars outrebounded the Eutectics 28-14 as they held a 38-19 lead at halftime.
Columbia was in the groove coming out of the locker room. They caused several more turnovers as the quarter progressed and outscored the Eutectics 34-13 extending their lead to 40 points at the end of the third. In the final quarter of play, Alexis Uffmann put down the exclamation point for the Cougars as she had back to back to back three pointers within a minute and 17 second time span. The Eutectics kept fighting, but the damage had been done. The Cougars cruised to an 88-40 victory over the Eutectics.
For Columbia, Ukari McKinney recorded her first double-double with a career high 13 points as well as a career high 11 rebounds. Alexis Uffmann also had a career high night with 16 points. In addition, Jordan Alford (19) and Raegan Wieser (10) also recorded double digits. Uffmann, Brandt, and Wieser all dished out three assists a piece in the contest.
Columbia College is back in action on Saturday, January 20th when they host Stephens (Mo.) College in an AMC matchup. The game is set to tip-off at 1:00 p.m. in Southwell Complex.
