Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the American Midwest Conference announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, April 22nd. For his efforts this past week, Columbia College's own Andrew Warner was recognized as the AMC Baseball Player of the Week.
Warner, a senior out of Lee's Summit, Missouri, went 8-for-16 at the plate while leading his team to a 3-1 record on the week. Of his eight hits, four were for extra bases including three homeruns and one double. In addition, he finished the week with 11 RBI's, four runs scored, three walks, and a stolen base. He has reached base in each of his last 17 games and has picked up at least one hit in eight of his last nine contests. This is Warner's ninth career AMC Baseball Player of the Week Award.
The baseball team will wrap up its regular season this weekend when they travel to Parkville, Missouri, to take on the Park (Mo.) University Pirates in an AMC matchup. The Cougars will play three games on the weekend including a doubleheader on Friday, April 27th starting at 1 p.m. and a single nine inning game on Saturday, April 28th starting at noon.
