Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the NAIA national office announced the first regular season NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the 2018 campaign. The Cougars, who ranked 10th in the preseason poll, dropped five spots to 15th after going 1-2 in the first three games of the season.
As a team, the Cougars are ranked 43rd in the NAIA in total shutouts (1.000). They are led by Kelsey Mirts who currently ranks 27th nationally in total game winning goals (1), Molly Klein who ranks 39th in total assists (2), and Kate Marshall who ranks 46th in saves per game (6.500). In addition to Klein's national ranking, she also leads the team in assists (0.67), shots (2.67), and shots on goal per game (1.67).
The women's soccer team is back in action on Saturday, September 8th when they travel to Marshall, Missouri, to take on the Missouri Valley College Vikings in a nonconference matchup. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
