Box Score Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The 9
th ranked Columbia College volleyball team was back in action this afternoon as they traveled to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to play against Williams Baptist University in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Eagles, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-10) and are now 18-2 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.
The Cougars kept the Eagles at bay during the first game, racking up 16 kills for a 0.227 hitting percentage. Columbia continued to roll in game two, adding another 13 kills. The Cougars dominated the final set and ended the match with 4 aces, 43 kills and a final hitting percentage of 0.565, for the sweep.
The Cougars were led by
Kiersten Anderson and
Jaqueline Silva who finished with 13 kills apiece. In addition,
Luisa Ferreira dished out 36 assists, and
Ellie Rockers, picked up 16 digs.
Columbia returns to the court on Tuesday, October 15 when they travel to St. Louis, Missouri to compete against the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets in an AMC matchup. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
