Box Score Hannibal, Mo. – The 2
nd ranked Columbia College men's soccer team was on the road in Hannibal, Missouri this evening to play against Hannibal-LaGrange University in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Trojans 3-0 to improve to 16-0 on the season and 10-0 in conference play. With today's win, the Cougars have claimed the American Midwest Conference regular season title and will have home field advantage during the AMC postseason and have clinched an automatic berth to the 2019 NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
The Cougars came prepared to keep their undefeated season alive by putting pressure on the Trojans from the start with 10 shots in the first half, one of which made it to the back of the net off of
Nathan Durdle who was assisted by
Aaron Noel in the 20 minute mark.
In the second half, Columbia was eager to add more goals as
Juan Pablo Agredo was able to find
Joe Spotanski in the 50
th minute which was then followed by another goal just five minutes after from Spotanski again, this time assisted by Durdle and
Matheus Santos De Albuquerque who took the corner kick.
Ryan Harrisskitt was in goal for Columbia and had six saves.
The Columbia College men's soccer team will play next on Saturday, November 2
nd when they play host to Williams Baptist (Ark.) University in their final regular-season AMC contest of the season. The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. in R. Marvin Owens Field.
