Kansas City, Mo. – Today the NAIA National Office announced the fifth regular season Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Cougars, who ranked second in the fourth poll, held there No. 2 spot. The Cougars collected two wins last week against Missouri Baptist University, 2-0, and Park University, 1-0 and continued their unbeaten season with an 11-0 record. This is their highest ranking in program history.
The top five ranked team remain in their same places from the previous week. Central Methodist remains in the No 1 spot. No. 1 Central Methodist received 16-of-18 first place votes, allowing No. 2 Columbia (Mo.) to receive two votes for the No 1 spot.
The Cougars rank third nationally in total shutouts with seven, fifth in shutouts per game, while goalkeeper
Ryan Harrisskitt ranks first in goals against per game. Freshmen
Nick Brandt ranks 12th in total game winning goals and 30th in game winning goals per game. Brandt also leads the team in goals totaling five and Harrisskitt leads the team in saves with 31 on the season.
The men's soccer team is back on the road to Conway, Arkansas to take on the Central Baptist (Ark.) College Mustangs in an AMC match-up. The game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12.
