Pulaski, Tenn. – The Columbia College women's soccer team was back on the field today in the Opening Round of the 2019 NAIA National Championships. After the win yesterday over Taylor University, the Cougars took on fifth ranked Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College in Pulaski, Tennessee today. Columbia fell to the Redhawks 2-0, to wrap up their season with a 19-4 record.
A corner kick from the Redhawks at the 17
th minute got things going in the first half as the ball made its way through the field and was netted in the left back corner for the lone goal of the half.
Both teams brought more intensity in the second half as the Cougars kept pushing for the equalizer, but the Redhawks proved to be more successful as they added another goal at the 68 minute mark to secure their victory over Columbia.
Kate Marshall was in goal and recorded seven saves for Columbia.
This marks the end of the 2019 Columbia College women's soccer season. The AMC Tournament Champions finished their season with a 19-4 record on the year and a perfect 12-0 mark in conference play. The four-year senior class of
