Kansas City, Mo. –
Today the NAIA National Office announced the ninth regular season Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Cougars, who ranked second in the eighth poll, held their No. 2 spot for another week. Columbia added another win last week against Williams Baptist University, 2-1, for a perfect unbeaten regular season at 17-0.
The top four ranked teams remain in their same places from the previous week with Mobile (Ala.) joining the top five in the No. 5 spot. Central Methodist remains in the No 1 spot. Central Methodist received 17-of-18 first place votes, allowing the Cougars to receive one vote for the No. 1 spot.
The Cougars rank first nationally in both shutouts per game and total shutouts with 12, while goalkeeper
Ryan Harrisskitt ranks first in goals against per game.
Joe Spotanski and
Nick Brandt lead the team in goals totaling six, Brandt leads the team in assists with seven and Harrisskitt leads the team in saves with 44 on the season.
The men's soccer team is back on the field on Saturday, November 9
th when they host the William Woods (Mo.) University Owls in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. on R. Marvin Owens Field.
