Columbia, Mo. – This afternoon the NAIA national office announced the ninth regular season Women's Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Cougars, who were receiving votes all season long, are now tied for No. 25 after grabbing an 8-0 win against Stephens (Mo.) College and a 9-0 victory against Williams Baptist (Ark.) University. Columbia is currently 15-3 on the season and has a perfect 12-0 record in conference play with a 12 game win streak.
The Cougars rank in the Top 20 in the NAIA in eight different statistical categories. They are fourth in both total goals (78) and goals per game (4.330), fifth in four categories including assists per game (3.500), shots per game (24.220), shots on goal per game (12.330), and in total assists (63), seventh in total shutouts (11.000) and 13
th in shutouts per game (0.610).
Kate Marshall ranks first in goals against per game (0.270),
Kelsey Mirts is ranked in various categories nationally including ninth in total game winning goals (6), 13
th in total points (48.000), 16
th in game winning goals per game (0.330), 17
th in total goals (19), 21
st in points per game (2.670), 25
th in goals per game (1.060), and 26
th in total assists (10).
The women's soccer team will be back in action on Friday, November 8 when they host Stephens (Mo.) College in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Quarterfinal. The game will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Field.
