Kansas City, Mo. – This afternoon the NAIA National Office announced the fourth Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the 2019 season. The Cougars, who ranked seventh in the third poll, moved down two spots to No. 9 after compiling a 26-4 record on the season.
Columbia ranks in the top 25 nationally in five statistical categories including fifth in assists per game (12.920), fifth in hitting percentage (0.257), eighth in service aces per game (2.280), 10
th in kills per game (13.790), and 12
th in total service aces (237). The team is led by
Luisa Ferreira who ranks second nationally in assists per game (11.580) and ninth in total assists (1204),
Kiersten Anderson ranks 11
th nationally in total service aces (56), 19
th in service aces per game (0.540), 31
st in hitting percentage (0.317), and 43
rd in total kills (362) while
Sidney Branson ranks 50
th nationally in kills per game (3.530).
Quick leaders for the Cougars include Anderson leading in aces (56), Branson leading in kills (346),
Ellie Rockers leading in digs (265),
Erika Miller leading in blocks (52), and Ferreira leading in assists (1204).
The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, November 12 when they host the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals in Southwell Complex Arena with the first serve slated for 7 p.m.
