Columbia, Mo. – This morning the College Sport Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2019-20 Academic All-America® College Division soccer teams. For their efforts on the field and in the classroom, Kelsey Mirts was named to the First Team for the second consecutive year. Abigail Meyer and Kaitlyn Tambke were named to the Second Team.
Mirts, a senior forward out of Columbia, Missouri, is a nursing major with a 3.89 grade point average. She appeared and started in all 23 games for the Cougars this season. Mirts led the team with 22 goals and 12 assists and had 56 points on the year. She finished the season ranked fifth in total game winning goals (8), 11th in game winning goals per game (0.350) and 12th in total points (56) and total goals (22).
Meyer, a junior defender out of St. Louis, Missouri, is also nursing major with a 3.95 grade point average. Meyer appeared in all 23 games this season, scoring three goals and having three assists on the season. She was a key defender that helped with 16 shutouts on the year and allowed opponents just 23 goals on the season.
Tambke, a senior defender out of Holts Summit, Missouri, is again a nursing major with a 3.63 grade point. She appeared and started in 23 games, scoring one goal and one assist on the season. Tambke was another key defender and aided in the team making it to the National tournament.
