Columbia, Mo. - Tonight the Columbia College men's basketball team went up against the William Woods (Mo.) University Owls in an AMC matchup. The Cougars defeated the Owls by a final score of 70-68, improving their season to 5-5 and moving to 2-2 in conference play.
Throughout the first half the lead changed four times between the Cougars and the Owls. Columbia was able to create a small gap from William Woods with a 10-2 run but headed to the locker rooms with a just a 27-25 advantage.
Both team came out of the locker room on fire as the score stayed close throughout. With the score tied and just 17.2 seconds on the clock, Columbia's
Justin Shaw charged toward the basket, his missed shot was rebounded by
Braden Wendel who scored the game winner.
