Columbia, Mo. – This evening the Columbia College men's baseball team was back in action as they hosted the Park Pirates in an AMC matchup. Columbia dominated the Pirates 11-1 ending the game in seven innings. The Cougars are now 11-8 on the season and 7-4 in conference play.
The Pirates were first to get on the board, but the Cougars responded quickly with a grand slam from
Ethan Howser to take the lead 4-1. Columbia College kept swinging away to add another four runs in the second, including a two-run homerun from
Dalton Bealmer. Both teams were evenly matched for the next few innings as neither team was able to score. The Cougars bats came alive in the seventh as they scored three more runs to end the game 11-1.
Chris Wall (1-2) was on the mound for the Cougars as he pitched all seven innings and only allowed one hit and struck out 11 batters. Offensively, the Cougars were led by
Ethan Howser who went 3-4 with three runs scored and six RBI, and
Dalton Bealmer who had two hits with two runs scored and three RBI.
The baseball team is back in action tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Park University Pirates as they continue the AMC series matchup. Game one is set to start at 1 p.m. and game two to follow.
