Columbia, Mo. – The NAIA Men's Basketball All-Star Game, presented by Adidas, was played Tuesday, March 26th as a part of a double header with the 2019 NAIA DI Men's National Championship game. DI and DII seniors were nominated by their coaches and selected by the NAIA All-Star Game committee.
The game featured many of the top players from both Divisions I and II and was coached by a pair of legends that have made 2019 their final season at the helm of their programs.
Legendary Coach Bob Burchard was selected to be the coach of the West All-Star team in the contest. Coach Burchard just wrapped up his 31st season at the helm of the Cougars and finished his final season with an overall record of 788-269, an incredible .745 winning percentage. The NAIA Hall of Famer led the West to victory with a final score of 111-107 over the East.
Throughout the game it was tied four times and there were six lead changes. It was a close game at halftime as the West lead 49-40. In the second half the West was outscored 67-62 by the East, but had done just enough to stay on top, while Coach Burchard added another victory to his illustrious career.
