Branson, Mo. – This evening, the Columbia College men's baseball team was back in action as they played against the Bellevue University Bruins and the College of the Ozarks Bobcats in a Tri-Match. The Cougars dropped both games as they lost the first game against the Bruins10-0 and lost the second game against the Bobcats 5-1. The Cougars are now 20-15 on the season.
The Bruins went straight to work in the first game as they scored three runs in the second. They kept their momentum up as they added another in the third and fourth. Bellevue kept pushing as they tallied up five runs in the fifth. The Cougars struggled to get anything going throughout the game as they fell 10-0.
 
Chris Wall (4-4) was the starting pitcher for the Cougars as he struck out five batters in four innings of work. 
Jacob Hollingsworth, 
Tanner Beatty, and 
Blake Thompson came in to relieve Wall as they struck out a combined three batters and allowed only two earned runs in the final three innings of the game. Offensively, the Cougars were led by 
Bradley Prebay who went two for three and 
Dalton Bealmer who had a hit.
 
In game two against the Bobcats, the Cougars were first to get on the board in the third inning as they scored a run. College of the Ozarks responded in the fourth with a two–run homerun to take the lead. The Bobcats then added three more in the sixth to extend their lead 5-1. The Cougars made one last attempt to get back in the game, but the Bobcats got the last three outs to hand the Cougars the loss.
 
Jacob Ford (2-5) got the start on the mound and was relieved by 
Conner Darnell (3-1) in the sixth as they struck out a combined three batters. Offensively, the Cougars were led by 
Joshua Miller who had a hit while scoring a run, 
Nolan Rattai who had a hit and one RBI, and 
Chase Urhahn who went two for three to round out the top performers.
The baseball team is back in action tomorrow as they continue their Tri-Match with another doubleheader. The Cougars will play the first game against the Bellevue University Bruins at 9 a.m. and the second game against College of the Ozarks Bobcats will begin shortly after the game between the Bruins and Bobcats.
